Application Process

The eligibility and process is as mentioned below to apply for the SBI Youth for India fellowship. We select a niche group of candidates for the fellowship through a series of selection phases.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Young Professionals or Fresh Graduates
  • Age 21-32 (as on date of commencement of programme)
  • Indian citizen/ OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India)
Screening & Shortlisting
  • The application process commences in the first quarter of the year. We put notifications on our website and social media platforms once we start accepting applications. To apply for the year 2020-21, click here
  • The process for submitting the application for SBI Youth for India for the batch of 2020-21 is as follows-

    Phase 1 - Online Application

    This phase involves submitting a short application expressing the candidate抯 intent to join the SBI Youth for India fellowship programme.

    Phase 2 - Online Assessment

    If the candidate抯 application meets the criteria, they will be invited for the 2nd Phase which is an Online Assessment. Here, the candidate will share additional details and also complete an essay section to help us learn more about them.

    Phase 3 - Selection Board Interview

    Upon clearing the Online Assessment phase, the candidate will receive an invitation for the final phase which involves attending the Selection Board Interview at a location of their preference.   • Shortlisted candidates are notified on an ongoing basis during the application period. We continuously engage with shortlisted applicants over an online forum to get to know them better as well as clarify their doubts regarding the Fellowship.
Interviews
  • Candidates short-listed for Phase 3 of the Application Process ie. Selection Board Interviews are called for interviews held across major cities in India. The interviews also act as an avenue to closely interact with like-minded youth, SBI Youth for India Team, NGO stakeholders & our Alumni to understand the fellowship programme better.
Final Selection & Background Research
  • Candidates who successfully clear Phase 3 ie. Selection Board Interviews will be notified via email and/ or SMS
  • On confirmation, candidates will be sent the offer letter specifying details of the programme, fellowship support and terms and conditions of the fellowship
  • He/ she will also have access to further material about the programme areas of our partner NGOs. This will help candidates to decide upon preferred NGOs.
Fellowship Support
  • Stipend: Rs 15,000/- to meet living expenses
  • Local Transport Allowance: Rs 1,000/- per month
  • A Readjustment Allowance of Rs. 50,000/- upon successful completion of the Fellowship
  • To and fro travel costs of the Fellows from his/her place of residence to project location as well as for training programmes
  • Medical Insurance
  • Mentorship by experienced professionals in the field
  • Access to the Community through well-established Partner NGOs
  • Linkages with premier organizations of the country
